In Munich, Saxon art world stars
Frank Kempe, born in Dresden in 1948, spent his childhood and youth in the ruins of Dresden. With his father, Horst Kempe, he learned the entire spectrum of the art trade from the bottom up. In 1964 he joined the old family-owned art store NOVA. The art dealer was 1974, the wave of nationalization to the victims and were expropriated. The Kempe family was harassed by major departure authorized to West Germany and France Kempe founded in Munich in 1976, the gallery SAXONIA. Celebrities such as fashion designer Wolfgang Joop, the singer Adam Ant, Johnny Mathis, Louis Armstrong, opera stars like Theo Adam, Peter Schreier, the actor Manfred Krug, and Armin Mueller Stahl or The filmmaker Peter Schamoni buy art at Kempe.
